Separating From Your Partner
Here you’ll find Northrop Grumman benefits and resources to consider as you navigate this difficult time.
If you are divorced or your marriage is annulled, you must drop coverage for your ex-spouse and their child(ren) from your benefits. You may also start coverage for yourself and your dependents if you or your eligible dependent children have lost coverage as a result of a divorce or annulment.
You have 31 days from the date of the divorce to report a Life Event on NetBenefits to in order to make changes to certain benefits. If you make this change after 31 days, you can only drop coverage for your ex-spouse and stepchildren. You cannot make any other benefit changes until annual enrollment.
Your eligible dependent(s) previously covered by Northrop Grumman programs and affected by the divorce will receive information in the mail on how they can continue benefit coverage under COBRA.
Log-in to NetBenefits to update or add a beneficiary. A beneficiary is the person, trust, or other legal entity named by the participant to receive any benefit provided under the plan upon the participant's death. If you don't name a beneficiary, benefits will be paid out as specified under the terms of your plan.
The end of a relationship can bring on many different emotions. Whether it was your decisions, someone else’s or the decision was mutual, the aftermath can be equally challenging. Taking the time to grieve and recover properly and learning ways to manage your feelings can make all the difference.
